All Children Deserve an Education
We are a 501c3 charity whose mission is provide the children of rural Battambang Cambodia with food for today, an education for tomorrow and hope for the future.
Main Focus: Building schools in rural Cambodia so children can get the education they deserve. We deliver aid directly, we buy locally and involve everyone in the community.
Our Story: Our founder, Amanda Prak Sam, is a Khmer Rouge survivor. I don’t know if you know the history, but it’s really shocking. After the US left Vietnam in the 70s, we left a power vacuum in Cambodia. Within days, the Khmer Rouge emptied the cities and forced men, women and children to work in Labor Camps. They killed everyone with an education. Amanda's father was a teacher. If you weren’t killed, you starved to death, died of disease or fled the country. Around 2.3 million people died during the genocide that lasted almost 4 years. This is our founder's story. She and her family finally fled the country but not before losing 2 of her siblings. We are building a school where Amanda's father taught before fleeing the country.
The country is still struggling and many very poor children are still not educated simply because there is no government funding or social programs. Schools are desperately needed and we are there to help. Every penny goes to the children and the school.
